As a low-maintenance lady, I'm always on the lookout for ways to simplify my non-toxic and natural skincare routine. Now don't think that simplifying your skincare routine means sacrificing its effectiveness. Having a simple and straightforward process when caring for your skin also means having one that packs the most beautifying power. That's why today I want to turn the spotlight onto Becca Tetzlaff of the blog, Organically Becca. This amazing clean beauty maven has been documenting organic skincare for years and she's seen (and used!) it all. Becca is a godsend for us low-maintenance ladies who just want someone to tell us the most simple, organic, and effective way to care for our skin. So without further ado - here are the top four natural products for a low maintenance skincare routine! Please note: Some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning at no additional cost to you, Becca will earn a commission if you end up clicking and purchasing an item. She worked hard to find her trusted favorites and she wants to share them with you so you don't have to deal with all the crappy junk she had to go through. Nuff said.
I mean, maybe you can relate, but sometimes I apply like a million things to my face and then wonder why my husband (who uses like two products) has basically perfect skin. Ugh right?! Maybe there’s something to that... So you can let out a big exhale and relax because I’m going to walk you through a super low-maintenance (but effective) skincare routine using non-toxic, organic products. These are some of my personal faves and I know firsthand that they work amazingly well!
I know you’re probably like, won’t oils break me out?! Not if you’re using the right ones! Since like dissolves like, using an oil cleanser will gently break apart dirt, grime, and makeup without drying out your skin. Check out this podcast episode with Emma from The Sunday Standard as we chat more about oil cleansing and the many benefits! I personally only cleanse at night, and then in the morning I just use manuka honey and water to cleanse. That’s what seems to work best for me, it’s definitely easy to over-do it and cleanse too much. You can read this blog post about manuka for more info! For a cleanser, I one thousand percent recommend this Superfood Oil-to-Milk Cleansing Balm! It’s made with sustainably-sourced, organic ingredients like spirulina, golden jojoba oil, petitgrain, and French green clay. It applies as a balm and then emulsifies once you add water. It washes clean without having to wipe with a towel. And your skin will be SO soft and smooth (yet hydrated and clean)! The clay absorbs excess oil, while the jojoba and castor oils work deep into pores to remove impurities. This one is especially awesome for acne-prone skin but suitable for all skin types. But it’s actually very beneficial! After cleansing, you can spritz some onto your face or apply to an organic cotton round and wipe on your face. This delivers a punch of hydration and added skincare benefits depending on the ingredients of the toner. Also, you can just use them as a mid-day hydration boost or to set makeup! Using a toner is a good step for anyone to use in their routine, but especially helpful if you have dry skin. I highly suggest you try one of OSEA’s toners! There are two: Sea Minerals Mist and Sea Vitamin Boost. Both are super refreshing and contain organic algaes and antioxidants that have anti-aging properties, help soothe, and refine pores. Like a drink of water for your face! Use coupon code POSITIVELYGREEN10 for $10 off your first purchase of $50+. Step Three: Moisturize Your Skin Act quick! Before that toner completely dries into your skin, apply a facial oil. Like mentioned above, using the correct type of non-comedogenic oils won’t make your skin break out and, in fact, will help your skin stay moisturized longer than a water-based lotion. By applying this oil as the toner is sinking into your skin, you’re simply locking in all that goodness and moisture. Think of the oil as a protective barrier that both keeps moisture in and protects from outside elements. Here is an amazing oil that I love: Wabi-Sabi’s Balancing Act Serum (pictured above). Elysse, the founder, is extremely conscious of how she sources her organic ingredients. She doesn’t use essential oils (which can be irritating for sensitive skin types) or palm oil which can pose sustainability and deforestation issues. This serum is ideal for most skin types, but especially oily, combo, sensitive, or acne-prone skin. It contains sacha inchi oil which is rich in soothing fatty acids, guava seed oil to help with inflammation, borage extract to minimize blemishes, and Shiitake mushroom extract to balance and calm skin. It’s amazing and doesn’t feel too heavy or look greasy! You can use coupon code ORGANICALLYBECCA for a discount on your first order. Bonus Step: Mask and Exfoliate Your SkinYou didn’t think I’d stop there, did you? If you want to add in a little *bonus* extra step, masking and exfoliating once or twice a week (after cleansing) will greatly help your skin. And since I know you are all about that multitasking, less-is-more lifestyle, here is a product that does BOTH! Josh Rosebrook’s Active Enzyme Exfoliator is truly a miracle worker (pictured above). It’s a dual-action exfoliator that uses both chemical and mechanical exfoliation. That means that it has walnut shells to slough off dull skin, and papaya enzymes which break down dead cells. Not to mention raw honey which we know has many skincare benefits. Every time I use this mask, it leaves my skin glowy and smooth. I like to leave it on for 45 minutes to an hour. So if you find that makeup just doesn’t sit well on your skin, or you have flaky, dry patches, I highly suggest this mask. You’ll thank me later!

It helped when you mentioned that we should use sustainably-sourced, organic ingredients for cleansers. My friend wants to use natural skin care set. I should advise her to go for it to improve her looks.
