Wouldn't be great if we could give ourselves a bit of a break as we strive for sustainability in our everyday lives? That's why we had Lauren Gropper, the founder and CEO of Repurpose, on the Positively Green Podcast. Repurpose is one of the leading brands in compostable single-use tableware - meaning you can plan your next BBQ with a clean conscience! In this episode we learn about Lauren's journey to founding Repurpose, how their compostable tableware is made and how it works, and some of the most important aspects of founding a sustainable company.
Repurpose is the leader in plant-based tableware. They offer compostable silverware, plates, cups, and bowls. All of their products are non-toxic, heat resistant, durable, and made entirely with plants.
Lauren began her career in sustainable design as an eco-entrepreneur and green architecture pioneer. Her early success led to a surprising career in Hollywood, working as a consultant to the industry with customers like Discovery Networks. Confronted with the waste generated by craft services, Lauren had an aha moment on-set. She founded Repurpose to extend the disposable lifespan of single use products and reduce waste. Today, Lauren leads Repurpose on its quest to change the world one low-impact cup, plate and fork at a time.
Thanks for stopping by Green Willow Homestead! From chicken rearing to composting, we've got our hands full and we love sharing what we've learned along the way. Follow along as we turn the 80 acres we call home into a farm that serves its community and a homestead that nourishes us throughout the seasons.
