The Positively Green Podcast Episode 4 - Undressing The Fast Fashion Industry With Marissa Biese12/3/2018
In this episode, Becca (Organically Becca) and I will be talking all about how you can navigate the fashion industry when it comes to sustainable brands, materials, and fast fashion.
We are so excited to have our first guest on the show. Her name is Marissa Biese and she is a dear friend of Becca's. They actually met on Instagram of all places. Like Becca and I, Marissa also lives in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. She’s a dog mom, photographer, and blogs about many aspects of living a more waste-free life, from eco fashion, to plastic-free products, to eco-friendly pet supplies. She is one of Becca's go-to resources for learning about sustainable fashion and shares a ton of awesome brands that are doing great things for the environment. Show Notes:

Today we’re going to have a conversation all about greenwashing. You may or may not have heard this term used before; and in our opinion it’s something that most people fall victim to when trying to switch to a greener lifestyle!
Organically Becca and I chat all about:
Tune in to this episode and learn how to spot the signs, understand what terms are used and what they mean, and how to properly vet companies and products to see if they are truly sustainable and non-toxic.
We hear these buzzwords quite a bit now and I know for me personally, the definition of sustainable felt murky until I started digging around to understand what it meant.
In this episode, Becca and I chat about what the word "sustainable" means in the context of choosing a greener life. Show Notes:
What if there was a platform to learn openly about living sustainably that didn't leave you feeling guilty or overwhelmed? What if you had two super nice ladies teaching and empowering you to make a few small changes here and there in your everyday life that were easy to implement? What if you could listen to a 30-minute podcast every week that got you excited to join in with helping the earth?
Welcome to the Positively Green Podcast! I have teamed up with the amazing Becca Tetzlaff of Organically Becca. Becca is a skin care guru and holistic living goddess. She is an expert in all things toxin-free beauty, clean living and eating, and a serious dog mom. I couldn't imagine a better partner to round out my crunchy salt-of-the-earth-style here at Green Willow Homestead. Why do a sustainable living podcast? I found myself constantly wishing for a better podcast for others that would frame living sustainably in a way that was attainable and nonjudgemental. So often this green life is seen with some serious side eye because people think I don't shave my armpits (I do) or it's an immediate dismissal of, "I don't even know where to begin to help because it's all too overwhelming." Other figureheads in the sustainable living movement can be extremely polarizing to the millions of us who are just getting started with living sustainably, making us feel like we can never do enough or feel terrible for our past habits. That's not what this show is about. What are we going to talk about? Every show we are going to cover a topic for you when it comes to sustainable living. You can expect things like:
